Office Assistant, Wokingham

We are currently looking to recruit an Office Assistant to provide support for our fast paced Wokingham office.  This busy and varied role reports to our Practice Manager and provides administration support for all departments within the office.

The successful candidate will carry out a range of administration tasks to support the team.  Duties will include photocopying, preparing initial paperwork, ordering stationery, collecting the DX, sorting and franking the post, covering reception, emptying confidential waste bins, as well as providing other ad-hoc duties to the team.  Additionally the successful candidate will be able to provide basic secretarial support to the departments.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they are capable of working on their own initiative whilst being a strong team player.  An eye for attention to detail along with a pro-active approach, seeking out tasks that need to be completed, will be essential.  Excellent IT skills, and a reasonable typing speed are essential along with a ‘can do’ attitude.

Applicants must possess at least 5 GCSE’s Grade A* to C including Maths and English.  Experience of working in a legal environment is not essential, although experience within an office environment will be an advantage.

Candidates will be required to travel to our Camberley office as required, so a car and a full driving licence are essential.

Business Immigration Solicitor / Adviser – 2 to 5 years PQE

We are looking to expand our Employment Department with the addition of an experienced business immigration solicitor or OISC qualified adviser.  Over the last three years, the Employment Department has more than trebled in size and we are looking to further expand our offering to clients.  Within this Department, we have been offering new and existing clients specialist business immigration services.

The ideal candidate will have worked in a commercial environment providing high quality immigration advice to corporate clients and their family members.  We are looking for experience in Tier 1 Entrepreneur and Investor applications, Tier 2/5 visa initial and extension applications as well as advising clients on the right to work and operation of the sponsor management system.  Knowledge and experience with Home Office compliance visits and defending civil penalties would also be required.  A proven track record of working independently is essential to the role. The candidate must also demonstrate strong business development skills with a flare for promoting new developments within the immigration sector through social media forums.  Liaison with the Immigration Legal Practitioner Association and other immigration forums would be preferred.

The successful candidate will become a valued member of our Employment Department working alongside other experienced solicitors and fee earners.   The opportunity will allow the successful candidate to play a pivotal role as we continue to develop and grow our business in this area. The position will be based in our Wokingham office. Solicitor 5 years+ PQE
