At Herrington Carmichael, we are committed to investing in future legal talent. We know that qualifying as a Solicitor requires time, focus and financial commitment, which is why we provide structured support for future Trainees completing the Solicitors Qualifying Examination.
Our SQE funding approach
The Firm provides a substantial financial contribution towards the LLM SQE1 & 2 Programme course fee.
The BPP LLM SQE1 & 2 programme
The Firm has partnered with BPP in supporting future trainees through the LLM SQE1 & 2 Programme. This full-time program commences September or March annually, preparing and supporting our future Trainees for their respective Training Contract start dates the following year.
What future Trainees are responsible for
Candidates remain responsible for remaining course fee balances and the official SRA assessment fees.
SQE1 Assessment
Estimated fee of £1,934 set by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
SQE2 Assessment
Estimated fee of £2,974 set by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).

Welcome sessions with the Firm and your peer trainee cohort.
HR Check-Ins
Regular catch-ups with HR during your BPP SQE studies to monitor progress.

Interactive workshops designed to prepare you for life in the practice.
Firm Social Events
Invitations to firmwide social events, seasonal parties, and network mixers.
Firmwide Updates
Regular briefings on firm growth, transactions, and internal newsletters.
Repayment Agreement
This protects the Firm and the Trainee and is clearly explained before commencing.
