Legal foundations for a seamless online launch: Supporting a global hardware brand with the launch of a new online platform

The Herrington Carmichael corporate team continues to advise a leading regional firm of insolvency practitioners on a range of corporate insolvency matters.

The Client

A global market leader in commercial and consumer hardware products, internationally recognised for its commitment to quality, innovation, and customer service.

The Challenge

As part of its digital transformation strategy, the client sought to launch a new ecommerce platform to enhance its direct-to-consumer offering and streamline its global online presence. The project required comprehensive legal support to ensure the platform was compliant with a complex web of international commercial, consumer, and data protection regulations.

Our Approach

The Herrington Carmichael Commercial Team provided end-to-end legal support throughout the development and launch of the ecommerce platform. This included:

  • Drafting and negotiating key commercial contracts with platform developers and third-party service providers
  • Advising on consumer rights, terms and conditions, and returns policies
  • Ensuring compliance with data protection and ecommerce regulations
  • Providing ongoing legal monitoring to keep the platform aligned with evolving legal standards

The Outcome

The ecommerce platform launched successfully, enabling the client to expand its global reach and deliver a seamless online experience to its customers. The legal framework put in place ensures the platform remains robust, compliant, and adaptable to future regulatory changes.
