Advising The Exclusive Collection on strategic banking facility

Herrington Carmichael’s banking team were delighted to advise The Exclusive Collection on the re-finance of its existing banking facilities, with National Westminster Bank plc.

The Client

The Exclusive Collection is a prestigious group of luxury hotels, spas, and leisure venues located across the South of England. Its portfolio includes iconic destinations such as Pennyhill Park, South Lodge, Fanhams Hall, The Royal Berkshire Hotel, and The Manor House in Wiltshire. The group also operates a golf club, cookery school, and traditional pub, offering a distinctive blend of hospitality experiences.

The Challenge

The client sought to refinance its existing banking facilities to support its continued growth and operational resilience. The transaction involved a complex structure and a tight turnaround, requiring clear legal guidance and a commercially focused approach to meet the client’s objectives.

Our Approach

  • Reviewing and negotiating facility documentation to ensure alignment with the client’s commercial goals
  • Providing strategic legal advice on key terms and risk areas
  • Managing the transaction timeline to meet the client’s deadline without compromising on detail or diligence
The Outcome

The refinancing was completed successfully and on schedule, providing The Exclusive Collection with a refreshed financial platform to support its continued investment in luxury hospitality. The client praised the team for its clarity, responsiveness, and focus on achieving the desired outcome.

What Our Client

Danny Pecorelli, Managing Director of The Exclusive Collection, commented:

“We instructed the banking team at Herrington Carmichael on a complex and difficult banking transaction with a tight turnaround. Yavan and Chris met the challenge and they helped us to understand the key sticking and contentious points with great clarity, and simplified the process for us. Chris and Yavan had a consistent focus on our end goal throughout, and worked hard to help us achieve it. It has been a real pleasure working with them, and I would not hesitate to recommend them!”
