Senior Solicitor, Employment
Alex is a Senior Solicitor within the Employment team with experience advising employers on day‑to‑day HR matters as well as more complex workplace disputes, across sectors including construction, leisure and hospitality, financial services, healthcare and charities. She specialises in equal pay and sex discrimination and is recognised in the sector for her expertise, having spoken at the national Ethnicity Pay Gap Summit at the London Stock Exchange in January 2026. Alex also advises on broader workplace culture issues, particularly where people risk, employee relations and organisational practices intersect.
Alex supports employers with Employment Tribunal litigation involving discrimination, employment status and whistleblowing, and assists with grievance investigations and culture‑related reviews where employee voice, communication and trust are central. Her advisory work also includes restructures and redundancies, HR policies, settlement agreements, corporate transactions and ER investigations.
Alongside her client work, Alex hosts the firm’s All in a Day’s Work employment law podcast series as part of The Legal Room UK.
Alex joined Herrington Carmichael in 2021, having qualified as an employment solicitor in 2019. She previously worked in international and national firms in London as a commercial paralegal, trainee solicitor and newly qualified solicitor. She studied French and German at King’s College London before completing the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law.
In her free time, Alex enjoys reading, travel (hopefully to resume soon), baking and playing golf.
