Liz Hailey assumed the role of Head of the Real Estate Department in June 2023, bringing over 20 years of experience as a specialist lawyer in Real Estate, having practised since 2001. Throughout her career, Liz has represented a diverse range of clients, including tenants and landlords, lenders and borrowers, investors, property companies and funds, as well as developers.
With extensive expertise across all aspects of Real Estate law, Liz has spearheaded the growth of the development finance, care home, and storage sectors. Her areas of specialism include complex development sites, secured lending, and a variety of mainstream commercial property matters.
Liz understands that the goal for her clients is not only achieving the right legal outcomes but also completing transactions in a timely and efficient manner. In addition to her technical expertise, Liz is known for her ability to meet tight deadlines and deliver swift responses. She is committed to acting decisively and collaboratively under pressure, ensuring positive outcomes even in complex, high-risk transactions.

Experience
- Represented a family-run pub consolidator with over 100 UK locations in a complex neighbouring agreement
- Advised on a £5 million purchase, conditional on planning permission for a self-storage building
- Acted in the renewal of an £8.2 million reversionary lease for multiple storage units, alongside handling a Deed of Variation in respect of the existing lease
- Represented a renowned London restaurant chain in lease renewal negotiations, including extensive alterations to the unit
- Acting for care home provider in acquisition of multiple new homes including £5m+ purchase of existing home and related finance over a portfolio of homes
- Acting on energy sector projects including options and acquisitions to optimise site value for energy investors
- Acting for a solar energy provider on a project with circa 60 potential sites
- Acting for lender on a £25 million refinance of a development project, including 105 residential units, retail spaces, and infrastructure
- Acting for residential developer in a complex purchase of a development site by way of a conditional contract, variation agreements, SPV share sale and sub-sale including in respect of planning agreements and senior and mezzanine finance requirements
- Acting for care home provider in £7.5m refinance of care home portfolio
- Acting on company refinance £11.5m commercial property portfolio
- Led the refinance of an iconic luxury hotel, structuring a bespoke security package
